I was at my local game store looking for something new to play and noticed a st:tng deck builder game for only 39.99.
great deal plus it comes a promo card either captin picard or Q without his powers. and it looks like they are coming out with a playmat with the enterprise d on it. it looks awesome.

well they have an awesome playmat coming out the game in late nov.
and a second expansion set called next phase in jan..

Can't say i'm too fond of the visual design of the cards.

At a quick glance i can't also find any decent review of the game mechanics and rules so even as an avid ST fan and CCG player i think i'll pass.

However it took me to a nice memory back in the 90s when there was a Star Trek CCG (and for a while even successful) which was a lot of fun.. it was mission based and you had to fulfill certain prerequisites like enough points in Weapons or Diplomacy etc which you got through equipment, ships and characters while your opponent was actively working against you to prevent you from accomplishing missions and win the game.

Much fun but somewhere along i lost interest and the game eventually folded somewhere in the mid 90s.

well I got play the game this weekend and it's awesome. and it actually have starship combat. I love the original ccg but it had no starship combat which is just weird.
but it's a fun easy game to learn so I highly recomended it.

timothy, a couple of things to note:

Hotlinking images from sites you don't own or don't expressly state that hotlinking is OK is not allowed here.

Also, I see you posted three times in a row here (not to mention of the 7 posts so far yours are 5 of them). Slow down, use the edit button when necessary, and if it appears the thread is dying with no other user comments, allow it to do so we don't allow artificial bumping of threads.

And lastly, given the lack of participation here, this may be better placed in the Trek Gaming forum rather than this more general Gaming forum. I can move it there if you want.

Link to the Trek BBS FAQ.

Thanks
LS
