First of all I'm not sure whether this in in the correct forum but it should be close enough. If not then I request the mods to move it
Second I'm not even sure if this is a good idea but we'll see.
Anyway, I notice that Line-By-Line threads are quite popular on the forums and even more so with the recent attempts at having a parody version. On top of that when we were still waiting for Trek '09 to come out many people were crying about how this, "new age, hip and cool" Star Trek would suck and would not have the soul and spirit of the original show. All fireworks and no substance. Thankfully we were proved wrong (to an extent)
So it got me thinking. What if our worst fears came true? Not only that but what if it was so incredibly successful that Paramount decided to remake the old movies and make them "Hip"
In layman's terms the idea is that me and whoever participates in this game will rewrite the movies in the most ridiculous and over-the-top ways possible. Micheal Bay-up the whole thing starting with obviously "The Motion Picture"
The Format & Rules:
1. Each post after mine will be between 5-10 lines and continue from where I left off. The 3rd follows the 2nd and so on
2. Consult the Line-By-Line thread for The Motion Picture or memory-alpha for a detailed plot synopsis.
3. Stay close to the plot obviously but write/describe it in the most over the top manner. Exaggerate (Scotty is now a surly, permanently drunk Scotsman) and go crazy. Replace normal dialog with more action movie fare.
4. Nothing too explicit or crazy. No Q popping into the middle of the story and hijacking the whole thing. Follow forum rules and keep it PG-13
5. Have fun
I know this probably sounds like the dumbest idea in history but give it a try. It could potentially be fun and if successful... SEQUELS PEOPLE!! "The Wrath Of Awesome", "The Search for Awesome"
However, I do feel this has more potential to be funny for the writers and less for the reader. Remember, if this thread fails. I'll be the only one to lose. BEGIN!

A cloud floats through the deep reaches of space. But not just any cloud. Oh no, this cloud is red and black, lighting shoots out of it. It's an evil cloud and it has evil intentions. Suddenly, three large "Katana" Klass Klingon vessels appear.
Inside the dimly lit bridge of the lead ship, the IKS Immortal, one crew member suggests action, "Sir! Perhaps we should scan the anomaly?"
The captain upon his mighty chair turns to him and harshly rebukes, "FOOL!! We are Klingon!! Scanning and investigation is for the cowardly Federation. We just blow shit up!! AND WHAT DOES ANOMALY MEAN? What have I told you about using big words? Prepare to fire!!"
