Mods were totally cool with Youtube videos of deleted scenes posted well before the release of the bluray, but they won't allow a few scans from a book posted? I don't understand this set of rules.
I knew that the book had been legally purchased by you, so that was never really at issue, but the removal of images from the book which were posted here came as a result of T'Bonz having received a communication directly from the book's publisher. I have also removed the images from the "Starship Size" thread for the same reason....and I'm not arguing against the removal of the photos if TPTB of the forum thought it was necessary.
I just did not want to leave any shadows as to if I had actually paid for the thing or if it was something I found online and illegally downloaded or something like that.

Copyright law is tricky stuff. For instance, did you know that "fan fiction" and other work derived from copyrighted works is a copyright violation?![]()
Pretty sure he's in the UK, and I recall hearing that the book was supposed to start shipping there on the 4th or thereabouts. You got it already? Where do you live, because its not supposed to be release in the US until the 17th, at least I think it is then?
Yup. Stand by to merge...

Whatever happened to "fair use"?
The one thing I wish devoutly that they'd not left out of that Superman book you refer to was the maps of Metropolis herself that were produced for prop usage in the film. It would have made my day to see their version of a Metropolis street map, and to be able to have it at hand for entertainment and possibly reference as well.
(Of course, if they're interested in a little extra spin-off merchandising revenue however late in the day and still have the map artwork on file, I'd gladly pay any honest merchant able and willing to provide...)
And now back to your regularly scheduled Trek movie book discussion...
this is a wonderful, 157-page treat; an exhaustive examination that informs as many conversations as it starts.
