How about a Trek take on Firefly? A civilian ship, be it business or personal, going about their way in the universe and happens to cross paths with a Starfleet ship every now and then.

Four different Trek series, each set in a different time period (pre-TOS/TOS/Movie era/post-TNG era). Each with a different cast and production crew, totally unrelated to each other. The shows would rotate in the same time slot every four weeks.

Yeah, I've always been kind of hoping for a non-Starfleet ST series. That could be really good stuff.

I've always been curious how the "average Joe" lives on Earth. I think perhaps a detective series of some kind based mainly on Earth, ocassionally venturing outwards, would fit the bill.

Have you read Isaac Asimov's "Robots" novels?

Anything with rotating officers. Maybe even start with the star of the show being the third or fourth down in the chain of command and watch him rise up the ranks.

A medical/rescue ship based series.

Or both ideas together, a command track officer dealing with all the medical types. A reverse M*A*S*H sorta.

Not really a Star Trek, but I wish the TV show Assignment:Earth had been made. I watched that episode again a while back and really enjoyed it. It was a good set up for a future show.

Mirror Universe ENT TOS or TNG.

I know it gets hated on but I would like a kick ass bad federation whooping booty around the Galaxy. It would require a reboot to the DS9 MU however. As it would be cool to see an Empire Enterprise D or E and Defiant. Or be really bad and do a post TNG DS9 VOY MU based on an Empire Promethious(sp?)-class ship.
