It depends... most of us enjoy it more, if we are doing it on our own time without compensation . I know I do, anyway...

Yeah I understand that, but these "art contests" like the t-shirt contest is more/less, instead of the t-shirt company paying someone to design a shirt. They get a hundred people to design a shirt for free, and then pay one of them while the other 99 get nothing.

I mean if it's just for fun or whatever, bragging rights that's one thing. But most commercial art contests strike me as "how can we get dozens and dozens of people to do unpaid work for us?"

Oh, I see what you mean, now... I didn't realize that's what was going on with the shirts. I thought this was a fan-contest... I didn't realize a company was going to sell it.
