Star Trek: Synergy

Is there any way to post the actual text of this to the board instead of as an attachment? I don't open strange files. :(

1. It's rather long (11K words).

2. It would lose the formatting, which not crucial, is helpful to the reader.

So-o-o-o-o, just for you, I marked up an HTML version.

Live Secure, and Prosper

Thanks...I just read it and quite liked it--that's the first time, besides Spock, I think I've ever really found myself liking a traditional Vulcan character!

You have a fondness for outcasts and misfits, perhaps?

When it comes to the Vulcans, definitely.

I've never been a huge fan of mainstream Vulcan society--I find it hypocritical on a level perhaps only matched by that of human society as portrayed in the 24th century. Those who are unusual in some way--the people like Spock, the various v'tosh ka'tur, and others, I really have to respect.

What portrayal of Vulcan society are you referring to? The one on Enterprise, that T'pau & Co overthrew? The jerks that showed up on DS9 to play baseball?

They're definitely part of the problem, yes.

And although a very demented version of it, the serial killer in "Field of Fire" took that attitude to its furthest extreme.
