I normally don't mind the sillier episodes, and have enjoyed most of them, but that one was not great. Hopefully next week is better. I did like the song Una was singing though!

Another 6 this week.

Some funny moments but the rest didnt really do it for me.

The only time I really laughed was when Spock told Erica "You still look like plants" and then she wobbled off as an actual cactus...

Yes, the cactus scene was the one funny bit in the episode for me.

I've never found most modern comedy movies/shows enjoyable, at best I'm bored for most of it.

sigh, didn't care for it. Way too many episode slots in this show are wasted on sitcom stuff.

My first dud of the season. Thought the first two were pretty good

uh yeah. that was dumb and stupid, and not really in the fun way. Felt like they were trying to channel The Oroville and it failed horribly.

even The Orville takes itself more seriously than this show does sometimes

i watched ENT's Two Days and Two Nights the other night, and compared to this one, that episode is actually pretty good

It’s fun for what it is. I wasn’t entirely clear what was supposed fo be real and what was the illusion. Ortegas and Scotty were fun. Una singing Klingon ballads was fun. Spock mind melding with plants was fun. It’s certainly not as dumb as Spock’s Brain..

I was cringing going into this episode. And while I didn't necessarily like it, I do have some nice things to say about it:

-I liked that Ortegas got more attention, and I also like how they dealt with her and Scotty's mutual contempt. It led to some unexpected, and nice, character moments.
-Uhura's party outfit.
-Una's karaoke.
-Cast chemistry. This cast seems to genuinely like to have fun together and that made the episode more tolerable.

What I didn't care for:

-The humor wasn't all that funny. It was too tame to be "The Hangover in Space."
-Shoehorning Kirk in again. Though I imagine there was a wink at the audience when Kirk explained why he was also on the same planet.

Strange New Worlds did The Hangover and I loved it. I might have total eclipse of the heart stuck in my head today but this was a lot of fun. It also reconciled Ortega’s and Scotty’s relationship.
