It looks like they are already contradicting books by changing name of Saru´s planet. We will see if the backstory will match...

I wish we knew. The Saru one seems pretty definitely to be set before the series, but I've got no clue about the rest.

The other two are (presumably) self-contained stories that don't contain Discovery crew and can presumably be set anywhere (Mudd's may be a prequel or set after his last Disco appearance, but he still has wide latitude in determining setting). Tilly's can be set either during the S1 finale (after her promotion) or sometime in S2, but not inbetween Seasons 1 and 2, because of the cliffhanger ending. The dilithium crystal from her Short Trek might be a Chekov's gun to be utilized before the end of the season.
