Does anyone think that it is a pity that they seem to have given up on this?

It seems that the second season will not be on Blu-ray, only normal DVD.

Mark my words, all three seasons will be available at some point on Blu-Ray. The issue, for the moment, is that they cannot currently do this because of outstanding contracts which need to expire first.

How soon will these contracts expire? I ask because that means that I'll have to wait that long to acquire TOS on Remastered form.

There is an out clause later this year if I remember correctly although the contract goes into 2009. I wouldn't expect to see TOS Remastered on Blu-ray until at least Christmas of this year.
