I thought I'd point out this cool new site. If you're familiar with the creator's (Travis Starnes) other sites, The Complete Marvel Reading Order (http://cmro.travis-starnes.com/) and Star Wars Reading Order (http://starwarsreadingorder.com/), you'll know what this site is about. For those who aren't familiar with those sites, the basic idea is to put everything into a reading/viewing/playing order. That means that not everything is strictly chronological (e.g., The Eugenics Wars novels will be placed with TOS, since it makes more sense to read them after you've already been introduced to Khan and Gary Seven in TOS), although chronology is a major factor in determining placement.
These sites are fun, since they allow you to check off material you've read/watched/played, rate them, comment, etc. Further, the forum (all of Starnes's sites share a forum) includes fun conversations/debates about how best to place stories (so I'm sure the chronology experts here at TrekBBS would be very welcome there). Starnes is very responsive to feedback, too (I've gotten him to move around and add lots of stuff to his Marvel and Star Wars sites). Since his Star Trek site just started a couple days ago, now's a good time to check it out and provide feedback, especially placement suggestions for stories, or notifications of missed stories that should be added.
I should mention that unlike the Marvel and Star Wars sites, Starnes has said that continuity isn't going to be a major factor in determining which stories to include. It's pretty easy to separate off the new Kelvin timeline stories (the films and tie-ins) into a separate reading order (which is already begun on the site), but there's no non-arbitrary way to organize most of the comics, novels, and games into distinct continuities (as we all know here, the borders of the novelverse, for example, are fuzzy and somewhat arbitrary). Thus, the main reading order for the site will include most novels and comics (I'm not sure about games), even though it's likely not possible to reconcile them all into a single non-contradictory continuity. Rather, there will be 80s novels alongside Gold Key comics and novelverse stories (and others as well), all placed according to where they would fit into the actual tv episodes/films, even if they don't all fit together. Otherwise there would be neverending debate about what to include and exclude, and there'd be no non-arbitrary way to settle those debates.
Anyway, the site looks like it will be fun, so I thought I'd invite any interested parties here to try it out.
