I really thought Janeway was going to show them Voyager at the end, but then there was that rather abrupt cut. You can tell this was made for network tv. :)

It was a nice episode but I was hoping for some more legacy characters at the academy. Bashir should have defended Dal for the Augment DNA.

Starfleet did feel rather useless during that battle. They were just sitting around doing sod all. I think it’s safe to assume the Enterprise wasn’t there. They would have solved the problem in no time.

They are labeled part one and part two. Just binge them back to back and they’ll make an hourlong.
Or that kooky geneticist lady with the malfunctioning gadgetry didn’t have accurate readings on all of Dal’s DNA — just samples in her database she was comparing his to.

Holy shit, I thought this was incredible..! I was chocked up during most of the episode, something that hadn't happened to me with PRO..! And the score.... the score was hands down one of the most ambitious scores I've ever heard on a ST episode...! Nami nailed it..! Loved the lighting too, and I didn't mind that the Living Contruct-storyline was wrapped up as quickly as it was: I like these kind of 'season wrap up' episodes, something DSC does so well too..!

You know what I really miss is a good "To Be Continued" tag at the end of a season.

I get more of a "iZero" vibes.

Yeah, that was good stuff. I really, really wish they could have managed an extra ten minutes for the second half, though. I think everything got wrapped up satisfactorily, but I would have loved for there to be a little more room for everything to breathe a bit.

I still would have felt the same way. This episode was rushed.

That was a rather abrupt ending. You’d have thought they’d have ended it by going into the wormhole, or even just showing where Asencia ended up.

I really enjoyed it, and last week as well!

I am definitely looking forward to Season 2. Excited to see what sorts of adventures they have for us.

After a long string of superbly executed episodes... they stuck the landing.

And holo Janeway followed her rules: her shirt was tucked in, her crew was safe, and she went down with the ship. :(

Seriously, where was one of those large "Memory Cubes" that contained enough data for a Hologram to fit in?
Does everybody use those tiny Isolinear Memory Chips only?

From what I can tell, the "Weapon Construct" seems to be a remote control server that uses some sort of software vulnerability to control other StarFleet Ships.

Without it's nearby presence sending commands, the Software Vulnerability seems to be just that, a vulnerability to run unauthorized commands in StarFleet's StarShip OS.

Hopefully StarFleet Software / IT teams learn ALOT from this.

So they were on that shuttle for a month? That seems very unlikely

The episode really did feel rushed and like they were doing bullet points of what happened after, but it was still a much more satisfying finale than Endgame and I would dare say that this is basically an unofficial Season 8 of Voyager.

I kind of get the slow burn of the first half, particularly if they were told they were going to release in these two parts and wanted to create two self-contained arcs, but where the first 10 episodes felt like too many for the story they told, the second 10 episodes definitely didn't feel like enough.

Anyway, if they are going to do a season 2 to look for Chakotay, I'll be there. I had no expectations for the show when I started it, but I'd rank it as high as Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds based on the second half of the series alone. It's just nice to have warm, fuzzy feelings after watching Star Trek again and not have to wallow in grimdark cynicism.

The shuttle escape scene was just like the opening of ST09 - mostly music, sad mood, very powerful!
I wonder how kids are gonna take it, leaving Holo Janeway behind to blow up, and losing the ship, though it does include the lesson to think of it as a young star becoming what it's meant to be. Beautifully written!

That was a way too short but beautiful ending to the saga. I didn't realize I loved these kids until I saw their "mom" have to say goodbye to them. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about holo-Janeway herself even now, but I do see her as being more of a unique person than I did when this started. She showed a vulnerability I rarely saw with the real Janeway. I got misty-eyed with her final words.

If the show does put the kids as the crew of a Voyager-A, I hope it's not just populated with Voyager alums, though guest appearances would be fantastic. Maybe a pre-Picard flashback Icheb could be part of it. Naomi Wildman, depending on how she aged, could be a cadet or ensign working with them as well. I hope they keep Tysess and Noum, who I'd like to get to know better. I expect Gwyn will end up with them before long.
