Yeah but everyone seems fine with murder, why even stay on the ship it’s not like Picard won’t be in danger where he is going. Elmore has no problem killing his fellow roms the writing is horrid on this series

Hey, he always usually asks them not to commit suicide by fighting him. It's just that they never listen.

And why should their species matter?

Just watched. It is a 9 for me. This one got me off the fence and this is most definitely Trek. Really good Trek.

Some were from BOBW, like the single tear scene

    She was an MD first

They probably got rid of second-hand effects so only the consumer is affected

In a way that needs >3D thinking...

The show is being interrupted by a commercial for prescription medication that could cause pain in my groin. :(

Liked the episode overall aside from some of the Raffi stuff and a plot contrivance. Gave it an 8, best score tied with the pilot.

Tune in next week as Elnor distracts the Romulan guards by starting a game of charades!

I'd have to watch again to be sure, but wasn't Picard hallucinating that the xBs who were trying to help him were active Borg?

Which would be another motivating factor for Picard in representing the xBs.

    Yeah, she died.

Could that just be referring to the scanning device that Soji was using to check the age of her belongings?

The best episode of the series so far is written by someone not named Chabon or Beyer.

Give Nick Zayas more episodes, please. The last 15-20 minutes were the definition of good writing, Star Trek or otherwise.

Zayas has the story editor rank, so he is lower ranked than the ones with producer ranks: Chabon, Goldsman, Duff, Beyer. Someone else may have done some rewrites without claiming credit. Chabon as the show runner for sure is involved in all the scripts.

Well, regardless of who did it: where has this writing talent been hiding all season?

To be fair, it's not the first time this happened with CBS Trek shows... it's almost as if some viewers fail to consider that the entire season is scripted and shot together and will routinely complain about things that are obviously going to be addressed for not being addressed right away. Remember back when the Tardigrade was first strapped into the Spore Drive, Discovery jumped and it was obviously suffering, then the episode ended there and people were complaining left and right that the show has thrown out Star Trek's positive message because it was being treated as a pack animal without any regard to its obvious suffering? And they didn't even stop to consider that if this were the case, the show wouldn't show the Tardigrade suffering at all, and lo and behold, it was resolved right in the next episode with Burnham trying to save it and Stamets injecting himself with Tardigrade DNA?

It's the same here for me. The show wouldn't show flashbacks to Maddox's murder if they were going to simply sweep all of it under the rug.

It almost feels to me that they probably have about 5 episodes of story and they are trying to stretch to 10.

If they cant get the creative juices going for a 10 episode season, perhaps they should take a page from the British Sherlock series and do 3-4 high scale 90 minute "event tv movies" for each season instead.
