Star Trek: Phase II "Bread and Savagery"

Ok, if there is another source, let me now, i'm late to the party on seeing this. lol

Watched this yesterday. Mr Dochterman does a stellar job as the Proconsul, and I thought Mr Gross' performance was pretty good. I'm not really getting a Kirk vibe from him, but I suspect that's because Kirk is either a) acting a little atypically here, or b) Mr Gross is bringing his own take to the table, or c) I'm just too used to James. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

It'll be fun to see this scene in context, in a final cut, but as it stands, this looks pretty good to me for a rough cut.

Appreciate the sneak peek. :)

The acting strikes me as about the same level as other Phase II efforts, but it's notoriously difficult to judge a performance in a rough assembly. Editorial has a huge impact of how the acting is perceived as cutting too early or late can make the actors seem rushed or awkward when they were, in fact, neither.

Gross actually gives me more of a Pike vibe, lookwise and, in this scene at least, the "surliness". This makes me wonder how much, if at all, they redefined Kirk's character when switching from Hunter to Shatner, or was it all just Shatner's interpretation of the Captain character. If the latter than maybe getting Pike here isn't such a bad thing. MHO, anyways. I agree, Dochterman as the Proconsul was great.

Caught this on James's facebook page when he released it. Great scene for sure and can't wait to see it once it finally comes out.
