Star Trek: Phase II "Bread and Savagery"

NORMALLY I WOULD NEVER,EVER DO THIS, BUT I MUST SHOW YOU WHY I AM SO EXCITED!!!!
Please understand that this is the roughest edit clip I have EVER released! Absolutely no sound work, or tightening to the shots, color correction or anything has been done to this! I simply wanted to share the AMAZING PERFORMANCES brought to us by Brian Gross, Daren Dochterman and Brandon Stacy! I can't release anything by our SPECIAL GUEST STARS : Jonathon Schall and Brian Holloway as I don't want to ruin the plot. But they have all brought Phase II to the next level!!!

Phase II is more enjoyable than Abrams Trek. I've been impressed recently with the level of work. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Sorry for the bold text, I copied and pasted from Facebook and it did that bold thing all on it's own...

I usually can't wait for the next episode of Phase II, but I am at a real loss, now. This is a professional actor!?
I admit he has the look, but his voice sounds of a adolescent teenager and not an experienced Captain with a very strong and commanding voice.
I am not impressed :(
James, I have to say, you were much, much better actor as Kirk than Mr. Gross. You have a very commanding presence and voice that I feel he is just lacking.
Despite how you may feel, you do qualify as more of a professional actor. Whether you have credentials as such or not.
Your portrayal of Kirk was far from just an amateur attempt.
You did the character of Kirk well. At the very least, did justice and repsect to the character and the role.
I think Darren Dochterman stole this scene.
Brandon Stacy has been doing well as Spock.
I still miss your original actor as Spock, though.
He pretty much nailed the Spock character from the getgo.
It's funny, I can't remember his name just now.
I hope Mr. Gross get better with the role. I just don't see it or feel it from this short clip. His performance doesn't feel honest or genuine. I feels kind of forced. IMO.
I don't usually post negative comments on this production because, overall, you and everyone else on the production team has done an outstanding job with bringing back original Trek that it seems it had really never left.
I hope things for this fan series continues forward and for the best and for all the fans.

Thanks for the peak. As far as the issue of who does Kirk well, let me point this out: This change permits James Cawley to focus on everything ELSE he does, including improving direction and production during the shoots. He can't be everywhere at once, and the shoots are very tightly constrained by the fact that this is an unpaid production, that if you want more you DONATE.

I am very impressed by pretty much all of James Cawley's work, period.

Wait till you see the new vingette. Brian Gross kills it as Kirk. Yes, he will get better, but he really is good.

I think the important thing to note of his performance is that it's not a Shatner impression. He's taking his own stab at the character. Thank goodness.

I didn't know there was going to be a new Captain Kirk! I'll miss you in the chair, James. Still, even as a rough cut, this looks terrific! Can't wait! :D

Wow! Dochterman nailed Proconsul!

I'm not sure about the interpretation Gross brings to Kirk, but it's one clip and I need to see what he brings to an entire story before I come to any conclusions. Dochterman impersonated Logan Ramsey's portrayal astonishingly well; I imagine that to be easier to convey in one clip than a re-interpretation of a legendary character.
