Isn't that pretty much the approach of every themed rollercoaster?

I agree, a rollercoaster should do something undeniably Trek-like to earn the right to use the Star Trek name.

For example, the carriages actually going into warp at some point in the run, or violently catapulting all passengers out at the turnover point in the loop.. only for them to be beamed safely to the platform at the last possible instant.

Seriously though, I don't see any way to make a connection between a rollercoaster and Star trek except by dressing up the rollercoaster a bit ...

Well, I love rollercoasters so adding Star Trek as a theme for one is fine by me. Just make sure it has enough slingshot loops!
