Star Trek Online: X-Box 360 Controller

I'm thinking about ordering Star Trek Online but I rarely play computer games. I'm more of a console guy. When I'm in the thick of battle and the adrenaline is pumping my memory basically goes out the window and I almost always forget which key to hammer to blast the bad guys. I have heard that your can use the 360 controller with this game and I was wondering if it was easy to use and to setup for use with STO?

I haven't tried it, but Space combat involves a lot of micromanagement if you wanna get it right - especially in the latter missions. I really cant see how you'd map all the controls to an Xbox Controller.

Is micromanagement mandatory or can you delegate?

Well, you can whack shields to full power or have it rerouted to weapons or engines, but by the time your fighting romulans your gonna want to be doing all that stuff while shooting off phasers, torpedoes and special weapons. Bottom line, I suppose you could get away with it, although it may make it more difficult in later missions.

How intuitive is the control scheme? Am I going to have to put in a good 72 hours before I'm proficient or will I pick it up right away?
