Star Trek Online: The Infected

Thingol has been waiting for enough Admirals to get together before attempting to complete 'The Infected' Mission. I'm going to do the same! I'm Rear Admiral 3 now so just about ready to take the mission... I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread to coordinate the TrekBBS Armada's first attempt at the mission, arrange a time and date for attempting it (maybe it will take more then one group if there are more then 4 admirals), and just generally discuss strategies etc.

So, who's in... and when are we going to give it a go :)

I didn't find the infected mission all that difficult, it jusa takes coordination from all team members at a few parts throughout the missions three phases.

I will give you some advice though - from a bunker engineer. Here is how I did the final room.

Have someone stay at the back of the room that can rez. As the bunker maker I go make a phaser turrent and a shield, go back the rezzer and die in the plasma. I repeat this until I've made millions (! ok lots) of phaser turrents. Once all the phaser turrents are in place, then have the three team members go corner to corner the phasewr turrents will pewpew any borg almost instantly making the corners easy as heck.

THe boss dies in a matter of seconds, without any help from the team cause the phser turrent all aim at her. And best of all, cause you did all the work, you get the mission drop

How did it go for you guys? If you need another RA5 to round out a 5-man STF, or even just an experienced player able to throw out tips, PM me.

I got my own fleet, but sometimes not everyone else is on.

This is one hard mission. I spent about 5 hours on it this morning with Tim and a few other folks. I never even finished it. Ran out of time to play.

ditto for me.

PM me next time you schedule a run. Assuming you're well enough equipped, I can get you through in 2 hours, 3 tops.

Bring large hypos. Buy them on the exchange or DS9. They are needed.

I'm not good at scheduling since my online time is sporadic at best but thanks for the offer.

I did manage to make it through the mission with a group of 5 thanks to the Queen having an unfortunate mishap with a corner pillar.

(P.S: Here's a tip. If you die in the last room you can respawn and get through the forcefield blocking the door. Just get up close and roll through it. Some kind of glitch. Shhh...don't tell nobody.) ;)

Now to take on the The Cure mission. That already seems harder. I need to get better ground weapons.

You know, it is nearly impossible to get 5 people together to do a mission. I finally got on a team and the first thing the leader asks is "Do you have vent?" Huh? I didn't know what 'vent' was so I asked. The response, BOOT, off the team. I was so pissed.

This is why I prefer playing solo missions or fleet actions. Trying to get 5 people together is a pain. I just want to play The Cure mission. Some people take this stuff way too seriously.

Ventrillo, a programme for voice chat...
Steam has it built-in...

I tried to get on a team doing Khitomer Accord and they asked 'is this your first time doing khitomer?' I said yes... BOOT! :guffaw:

After I got the BOOT I googled vent and gaming jargon and found that out. Pretty lame but I didn't know! The guy could have just told me.

Ridiculous, isn't it?
I see people looking for one or two more to round out a team say experienced players only. What the hell? I can't get experience because nobody will let me on their uber advanced team. Next time I'll just say I have experience to the 10th power or something...

I haven't played Star Trek Online but would like to. I tried to download a demo but was unsuccessful. I've heard mixed reviews on it though.

E.T.

Well I've finally made it to RA3, so if people are up for playing this I available.

Your not joking there, i was in a random space encounter with same admire person who after we had killed 5/10 enemy squads declared that they had done most of the work killing those five and i had to do the other five squads myself or they would leave......then as i was trying to kill these squadrons myself they were sitting just out of range trying to tell me what to do.......:sigh:

Where do these people come from..

These types of players come from one of two places... A) The 7th Grade B) the back of the Comic Book Guy's shop
