I've been downloading the patch for the past few hours... it's slow going. Apparently it won't be activated until a smaller patch is released tomorrow or soon after. I've not been able to play the game all night but I'd rather get the download out of the way now with it being 1.5gb!

Anyone else looking forward to the new content?

Yep...

There is also a second "Expanding Universe" video...

And apparentlly there where some bugs with it so it has been pushed back to the 25th...

Looks fun but I thought that rigellians were giant turtles and/or proto-vulcans and/or big cavemen?

FYI - Still undergoing testing on the Tribble server (players fpund some stuff they want to further fix); so the next stated date for the release is 3/25 - with a possiblity of 3/31/10). That said, I'm amazed at the constant level of communication between the Dev teams of Cryptic's MMOs. yes, dates slide, but at least they are being up front and more communicative than any MMO company I've experience (including Cryptic under NCSoft when they were running City of Heroes/Villians). It's refreshing to kno0w exactly what's in the pipe, and where things stand.

Of course, if you're really chomping at the bit for more stuff to do, it's a small consolation, but still, I'm somewhat impressed by the level of maintained communication with the playerbase.

I have to say that I've been really impressed with Cryptic's level of communication with players.

One the things that's driven me off the STO forums has been the over the top negativity of lots of posters there, especially when Cryptic are being so open and keeping everyone so well informed.

Really want this game as im fed up of world of warcraft but think i need a new pc as the set up is a bit more heavy than wow or eve-online :-(

Well quick up date there it looks like so far on the Federation side the off duty uniform thing is what your limited to since there's no C-store stuff in the test server and you don't get to customize it much.
