Star Trek on tv and in General

Thing with Doctor Who is that it was largely serialized, consisting of a story broken into usually 4-6 parts even in the new series there are a bunch of two (and even three)-parters. So while there might be 700 or more episodes, there's only about 200 stories.

There's also the problematic season 22, which was WHO's first experiment with the 45 minute format (Although it still consisted largely of serialized episodes).

I know we excluded soaps, but, since it's a genre show, I can't resist pointing out that DARK SHADOWS ran over a thousand episodes. More if you count the two movies and short-lived NBC reboot.
