The Saturn Award nominations were announced and Star Trek picked up six nominations. It did not get any acting nominations, and did not get nominated for musical score or costume design.

Avatar got the most nominations; 10 in all including a nomination in all four acting categories.

Wow. I'm not surprised Star Trek XI is up for best picture, but notice how District 9 and Avatar aren't? That's a turn up for the books. And I don't see much serious competition in that category, except for Moon. Trek could actually win it!

That's odd about Avatar and District 9 being in different categories. Oh well, it gives Trek a good chance of winning. There's almost no way Trek would stand a chance of picking up Best Sci fi film if Avatar was up against it. Still, that's weird that Avatar is 'fantasy' despite clearly having spaceships and aliens in it.

The only dark horse I can see in the Sci Fi race is Moon. That might upset Trek's chances. But I'd be very surprised if one of those other films wins. Knowing? Really? I don't even remember that film's events. Best Sci Fi movie will be either Moon or Trek XI.

Knowing was entertaining, but overall pretty stupid. That movie would have been substantially better if they didn't give away the ending in one of the first scenes through a totally out of nowhere conversation.
