Well yes, but the discussed facts, critism and opinions are still intresting
Man, I hate the way I can't trust any YouTube video talking about Star Trek or Star Wars or Doctor Who etc. lately.
I was actually just looking for a video to watch on a recent episode earlier and I was looking at the names thinking 'I don't know any of these people... do I want to take a chance that they're going to come at it like an actual critic and not just provide people with a dose of the sweet negativity they crave?' But I decided I not to bother in the end.
It's not that I don't want to hear why an episode sucks, it's that I don't want to hear it from someone who makes a living from thinking that everything sucks and also that Alex Kurtzman just got fired again.
So I'm sorry I didn't watch your video, but I really don't trust it.

You kind of sound like a religious person that does not want to tempt his fate with negative views. You rather stay ignorant than to be informed and become negative.
Back away from the personal criticism, I'm this close to closing this thread because I suspect how this is going to end. State why you believe 'Trek no longer understands Trek', and the rest of us can discuss (another) gatekeeping thread, whether we agree or disagree with the thread topic, we don't have to watch the video.

They're absolutely right. Anything after "The Cage" should be taken out back and thrown in the bin.
I really hate when people try to put Star Trek into one box. At this point there's been so many different stories and fans have latched onto the different iterations that it's kind of offensive to say something's not Star Trek. It's just a show about people in space and weird stuff happens to them.

Basic summary of video:
- More or less a criticism of the first episode of DIS S4, plus some Paramount bashing for the first few minutes
- Eyerolling that even the Federation President bows to the awesomeness of Burnham and won’t challenge Burnham in the slightest way
- Tone deaf first contact in opening; colonialist & rip off of the opening of STID; never look up anything about the species they are visiting and are basically buffoons; offensive for Star Trek
- Not understanding that they haven’t trained anyone in 150 years
- Burnham should be using "no man has gone before" in speech; didn't adopt "no one as gone before" until TUC
- 4th grade writing
- insidious to show people dying incompetently; loss of one life considered a tragedy back in TNG
- No men in the show & removed masculinity from the show; now "matriarchy of incompetency"
- Crew regularly have temper tantrums of teenage; not like Data’s calling Worf into ready room for insubordination
- Odd to dedicate something to an individual a thousand years ago (Archer spacedock) since we don't do that in the real world; is considered pandering
- “no one in the 32nd century is good at their jobs”; needed the saviors from 23rd century to save them
- No one has any agency and can do anything or try anything without Burnham coming along to show them first
- Reference S2; everyone but her is a complete incompetent, especially if they are a white male
- Past Federation presidents considered interesting
- Burnham has instant animosity towards Federation President that comes out of nowhere; considered odd and they should be considered compadres.
- Why are these choices being made, accus them of not reading, not seeing a lot of literature?

@Nyotarules is exactly right. Posting YouTube videos of other people talking about Star Trek is not a good faith effort at discussion. If you have something to say, say it.
And next time try to do so without the personal insults and condescension.
