A couple of mistakes in the article (what else is new?) but I like the mention that P2 will be shooting their second episode this year in the coming weeks. A definite upgrade from a yearly Schedule...

"Plans call for filming the next show, which will take about 10 days, later this month."

Well, our shoot is in November--just after Hallowe'en. It is not an episode per se. We will be shooting two short vignettes in conjunction with the team from Star Trek Axanar.

So Continues had the Journal coverage, now New Voyages has the Times coverage.

Nice that you all have gotten a much deserved day in the sun from The Grey Lady.

Greg- an aside- perhaps for when you next have your producers' pow wow-

As a long time fan and supporter of your production(s) I urge you guys to stick to some kind of schedule. When you were the only folks playing in the sandbox, you all could basically write the rules- but now it is more incumbent upon you to release when you plan to (and/or have announced). It just engenders more confidence (Especially now that there is a Kickstarter... not just your own money or time anymore).

That said, I for one am looking forward to more great stuff from your hard working and dedicated team.

Well, one of the solutions to whatever problems that might cause a schedule to slip is to throw money at the problem. Need to get some pickup shots? Pay to fly the cast and crew in to do the shoot. Can't get postproduction done in time because the editor, say, breaks his leg? Simply pay a professional editor.

So there is a certain resilience that comes from being well funded. Our Kickstarters have helped. But barring considerably more sums of money, we suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and do our best to weather the storm with our still limited resources.

But I hear your concerns and am always trying to employ different strategies with the team to improve our professionalism and timeliness. Mostly what I want to do and what I think needs to be done isn't all that relevant; James is in charge of his show and everyone takes their marching orders from him.

I have a freind who works for the times and he said that the editor asked for the "new Star Trek fan series that is getting so much hype". He wanted the article to be about Star Trek Continues. Apparently, they googled 'Star Trek Fan films" and New Voyages was the first to pop up. The mistake wasn't noticed until final editing, but they decided to run it because it was a local story.

My understanding is that the November shoot at Ticonderoga will be an Axanar shoot that uses the TOS sets and New Voyages crew to interact with Garth of Izar after the events of "Whom Gods Destroy".

Total and utter nonsense. The writer lives in Queensbury N.Y.and also writes for the Lake George Chronicle, a local paper. He received our press release and came to our Trekonderoga event. He was very impressed with our efforts and surprised at our location. He wrote a piece about us for that paper and approached his editor at the NY TIMES, to which he also writes for and pitched the article. I spoke with him at length, I have first hand knowledge as to the chain of events that led to this article.

Amazing how much the game of "telephone" is still alive and well in the interwebs era. :)

New Voyages has always been a great team effort. The CBS Morning Show and now the NY Times has realized that Star Trek is far from dead.
Here's to the finest fan film in the fleet.

I don't know who you are, but I know that every post you have put up has been an attack on every fan film group you mention except ST:Continues and an excuse to praise ST: Continues. Since I run a Star Trek Fan Film tracking website, people tend to tell me a lot of fake inside information. I recognize fake 'inside information' when I see it... and right now, I see it. Try to make up a better fake story next time.

As part of ST: Continues (whether formal or fan base) you can edit and control your own Facebook pages, praising yourself to the hills. You can troll everywhere, attacking others. But in my experience, you won't go unanswered at the Trek BBS.

And if you think I'm being mean and tough, ... gee you really are new here!

I don't recall WPIX ever airing Trek "two or three times a day".

Growing up, TNG usually had rerurns and would air 1 or 2 episodes a day. It's certainly plausible.

Plausible, but I am around Cawley's age and don't recall Trek airing that often on that station (at least from fall 1975 on).

Are you guys planning to shoot Yorktown's pick-ups all at the same time? THAT would be quite a party!!

Well, now we know you are a Star trek: Continues troll. Total bullshit as James Cawley proved. (I mean what reporter is that lame with his research anyway).

STC does more trolling than any other production. Attacks on New Voyages and Axanar have one thing in common, Vic Mignogna's hatred for James Cawley and Alec Peters. Maybe do like James and Alec do and take the high road and support other productions.

We know James and Alec are the two biggest supporters of other Star Trek productions. And now they are working together. Too bad STC lacks the generosity of these two guys and feels the need to send out trolls to attack them instead.

You got sources or proof of this? You're kinda sounding like you're trying to troll anyone that likes STC.

I'm getting so tired of this belief that either of the two productions needs to be the "One True Fanfilm." They're two different takes on the same material, and it's cool to have both. I, myself, prefer STC more than NV, but I recognize everything NV has done over the years and respect it.
