Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I just picked it up today at Borders. Figured I'd go there before it closes. Obviously it's the adaptations of the first six Star Trek movies. I was happy to get it because I used to have the Star Trek III one and I lost it years and years ago. I didn't realize until recently that Marvel did the initial adaptation for the first Trek movie. I guess the switch from them to DC is the reason a Wrath of Khan adaptation wasn't done until recently. But I was always a fan of the old DC Star Trek series and how they did it so I'm looking forward to reading the other ones. The Star Trek novelizations (up until Generations) were always the best.
Did this ever come out? I've been watching for it on Amazon, but I can't ever find it. What's the ISBN?
ISBN? I didn't know there were issues with this coming out. But I did find it at Borders over the weekend.
It was supposed to come out a couple years ago, and then was cancelled. It was resolicited for this summer, but it never turned up on Amazon, and it's not even on IDW's site. An ISBN is a unique identifier assigned to a book. It's probably printed above the barcode. With that, it's easier to find on-line sometimes. According to BookFinder, the ISBN is 1600105556, but they only list it on UK sites.
Are there any more copies? If you can pick some up, there are probably obsessive completest collectors (such as myself) who would love a copy.
Thanks Steve! I ordered one from Book Depository and canceled my order from Amazon UK, which was $39 with shipping.
It's also on the comic book online store Things From Another World for $22.49 (I'm assuming with shipping and handling).
Star Trek Classic Movie Omnibus was listed on Amazon briefly, then disappeared. Like JD, I bought a copy at TFAW. The 13-digit ISBN is 9781600105555.
Oh, no I didn't buy, I just it was there. I've never actually bought anything off of TFAW, I just use the site to see what's coming out or has come out recently
Lately, I've been looking for copies of the Marvel movie adaptation in other languages. Here a few cover scans of Marvel's Star Trek: The Motion Picture adaptation and an article about the movie adaptation.
I was living in Panama in 1980 (don't ask) and picked up a copy of the comic magazine of "Viaje a las estrellas: la pelicula." Mailed it home to a friend as a laugh. Wish I had it now...
I'm on a book-buying moratorium, but I'm thinking I ought to pick this guy up before he disappears again... Glad I resisted temptation to pick up the Motion Picture Trilogy TPB when that came out.
I checked with my comic shop this week, after seeing this thread, and the book came out last month. They had one copy still on the shelf and will hold it for me. I think it slipped past my standing order because I already have the trilogy (II, III, IV) omnibus. So... thanks DarthPipes!
