Star Trek make up and prosthetics pictures

The alien with the three faces is awesome! Did anyone spot him in the actual film?
No, but I don't remember seeing most of those. There were a lot of aliens in the background (at the bar, the Academy meeting hall and the shuttleport) or glimpsed for a fraction of a second in passing (the Academy quad.) It's going to take some dedicated frame-at-a-time searching of the DVD to see where some of these folks were.

This one is cool, no eyes that I can see. Looks like the alien has sensory organs instead, very cool.

He has eyes, but they're on the sides of his head. You can see them better in the shot just before it.
Sorta metallic-looking.

And some more

Ayel

and some concepts for Nero. I think in the end they chose Nero's look wisely :p

Good god. i get all claustophobic-y when i see them completely covered in the latex stuff to make the model of their heads. That must really been awful to have to sit there and let them do it.

I think the scar look could have been cooler than tattoos. Or maybe the "blind in one eye" bit would have made Nero a little bit more unique of a villain.

Even if its just an eye, that's still a damn good look at what Abrams intends for the Kilingons. Very Wolfman-like with the dark contact lenses and slanted browline. Maybe a wider bridge to the nose? Depending on what they decide for the tip of the nose the new make up may wind up looking more feline (ala Ron Perlman in Beauty and The Beast).

The self-mutilation scarring ones look freaky. I'm glad they didn't use those. I can see some fans going nuts had some of the "big nose" ones bieng used.

I think the Romulan look we ended up with was very cool.

Thank god none of the tests have the TNG/DS9/ENT Romulan Bowl Cut or those horrific TNG shoulder pads.

I'm kinda thinking this guy is a Klingon . . . sure looks like the same guy is under there, the lips, facial hair, brow etc

here's what I think: the skin on humanoid heads are pretty thick, there's the outer layer with the hair, another layer with blood vessels, fat muscle etc, so the Klingon bone structure probably wouldn't be as pronounced as depicted post TMP unless it's a bony crest like Minbari have
most of the detail would be lost because of the relatively thick covering
just think of those people who have silicon cranial implants and tons of tattoos . . . like that 'lizard' dude you see on dumb shows like Ripley's Believe It Or Not or RealTV

Crap, I've really been hoping to see Nero's wife Mandana (Scottie Thompson). We barely even got a glimpse of her (hologram) in the movie.

I love that guy with the long face. Do we have a name for him?
He's simply "Long Face Bar Alien" in the credits. There have been a couple of suggested names, but nothing's caught on in the way that, say, "Cupcake" has.
