If you're going to use screenplay format, my suggestion is to just export it as a PDF and post a link. That way, the format translates fully. Or if possible export it to .html and upload to a web server somewhere and post that link.

I might also suggest using actual screenwriting software rather than Word. There are a number of free options available that will make the process go much smoother and allow you to focus on the writing rather than the format.

But it is nice to see someone writing in script format around here. I find it's an underused format for fan fic (Trek and non-Trek) that, when done right, can capture the feel of an actual episode (or movie) much better than prose.

But yeah, format can be an issue, so I definitely suggest just linking to a PDF or HTML file rather than trying to post it directly to the forums. Also, another option for creating PDF files is http://www.pdf995.com which offers a free printer driver you can use if the software you're using to write doesn't offer an export to PDF option.

I haven't read it yet. It's a little hard to follow in its current format (the way it's displayed on the forum, not the screenplay itself) which distracts a lot from the story. I don't imagine you'll get much feedback unless you post it in PDF or HTML, to be honest.

As far as exporting to PDF, most screenwriting software has an option for you to save the script in PDF format. For you, I would recommend Celtx. It offers a free basic screenwriting account with a web-based screenwriting software you can use to write and also includes the option to save the script to PDF format.

Have you tried Google docs or Dropbox? They allow you to upload and share documents. I would suggest using one of them to upload your PDF scripts to and then sharing the link(s) here rather than posting directly to the forum.

If by screenplay format you mean where all the dialog is center-justified, personally I find that format impossible to read.

To each his own, I suppose. Personally, I much prefer screenplay/script format. Just feels so much more like you're actually watching on TV or a movie. Of course, that assumes it's a well written script.

Personally, I've always found that a fan fic script written specifically to be read rather than produced is much better off when the writer isn't afraid to spice up the description and direction a bit, which is generally the job of the cinematographer and director in a script that's actually intended to be filmed. Relying too heavily on industry terminology can also ruin even a good fan fic script.
