Sure, she does. Most do.
Maybe I'm biased but Mariner made perfect sense with the fact that she found the rules as getting in the way of actually helping people. So, she decided to trust her own self, not the rules. And being a rule breaker is easier.
I don't remember very much about the season but did Boimler ever actually save the day, like Mariner seemed to most weeks? I don't mean like the first episode where they tried to suggest he cured the disease even though it was completely by accident and had nothing to do with him.
Temporal Edict has his suggestion to the captain (even if that is just "you're being fucking stupid" put more politely) enable the crew to succeed.
I just watched that episode and I can see that as a Boimler saving the day. He even got a plaque.
I remember some things about the season so this was why I wanted to do a rewatch. For example, the next episode is Moist Vessel and I don’t remember that episode much at all.
