star trek legacy woes.

^ Really that bad :( geeze, what happens then? When you click the cursor do you have to keep clicking it or just aload of annoying things rolled into one?

Lots of things rolled into one.

Sadly, it is that bad. It got so much hype - all five captains providing the voicing. It's quite uneblievable how it managed to turn out so badly. The graphics certainly aren't top of the range, even though you need a high-end machine to play them.

It needed about another year in development, and then it might have been worth having.

I tried to get through it, but could not proceed past the Stargazer mission.

The asteroid level is easy with some patience. first off, all you need for ships are the stargazer and a scout ship. when the mission starts, your sensor arrays will highlight in dark red, the asteroids that pose a direct threat to the planets or arrays, use the stargazer to warp to these and destroy them.
When you get to the part where you have to tractor beam the turrets to the planets, boost the scout ships engines and drag the turrets to their designations, when you get to the last stage where you have to destroy the large asteroid, do not waste you time with phasers, they do not work, take the scout and tractor beam a smaller asteroid and fly it into the larger one, a couple of times with this and it will break up.

But its probably easier on the 360 due to the control actually working correctly.

Yeah, I've always had to implement a different strategy on the PC to make it work. Usually I stick with the Stargazer and whatever I had at the end of the previous mission. It takes lots of micromanagement, but I just split the ships into 3 different location, and constantly switch between them to get them targeting a new dangerous asteroid. When it's time to deploy the turrets, I keep 2 ships in the asteroid field, and I have my fastest ship divert all power to engines and take the turrets one by one. I've gotten that to work several times. What gets real frustrating is the big rock... if I don't keep a constant eye on my ships they start doing things other than ramming their tractored payload into the big one. :brickwall:

^That's a similar approach to the one I took, but it took me a few tries.

Personally, I retained the ships from my previous mission (but traded up maybe one of them- I think it's best to trade up as soon as you jump eras and as soon as you can or you will loose trade-in value) and brought the entire fleet to the sun to destroy as much debris as possible. Then, I left the Stargazer there and redeployed the other three ships between the debris and the planets and let them take out targets as they approached, checking every so often to make sure they were doing their mission. Then, I used the Stargazer (diverting all power to engines) to bring the turrets to the planets. As the other ships were freed up, I repositioned them to take the extra turrets (two or three I believe) to the center of the system in anticipation of the large asteroid, then diverted all ships' power to the weapons and let the big asteroid have it. I didn't have much problem with this strategy.

I quite liked the game, but then again this was on 360, YMMV.
