Star Trek infinitely better than all three "Star Wars" prequels.

After what Lucas did to Indiana Jones, I have no love for his work...

Here's a question, will Star Trek outperform those movies in the box office?

I hope so. I have to admit I like the prequels somewhat (I was sixteen when Episode One hit the cinemas and went to see it with my (now ex) boyfriend, so there's an emotional attachment at work here), but this is a million times superior to Star Wars.

I disagree. In addition to the timeline & logic issues I have with this movie, I don't think that any of the action scenes in this film are anywhere near the quality of the Star Wars prequels, nor is Michael Giaccino anywhere near the same league as John Williams.

MSNBC seems to think that it'll be the film with the longest hold this summer.

Perhaps, although I have very high hopes for Terminator Salvation. And I wouldn't count out Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, since that's a movie that really begs to be seen on the biggest screen possible.

Most bad Trek is better to me than any good SW. < Is there any, really?

I bought the soundtrack. I love it.

My god this film was way more fun that the bloviating trade Federation craptacular green screenified "you're so soft, not like sand" I'm a whiny pretty boy meesa likey five yearsa old annie DO NOT WANT cartoon network Star Wars prequels.

I bought the soundtrack, too; it helps ease the cravings.

The soundtrack made me crave it more. I heard that first track where it builds up to the Kelvin sequence, and I was like, "must see it again NOW!"

Yes, exactly. The dialogue in Trek was witty, sharp and very adequate. Just compare Anakin/Padme with Spock/Uhura, and Bob's your uncle.

Can't disagree. And I was one of those sad bastards who not only went to see Episode 1, but cheered and applauded at the end. Although I was only 13 at the time, so I blame it on my youth.

No matter what my feelings on this movie were, it was much better than Star Wars. There was...acting.

Acting. Dare I say that again? People...acted out parts. Compare that to the prequels...
