Star Trek II: The Rugrat of Khan — Fact Trek

Wasn't there also a cut scene where the child walks up to the Genesis Device before the Reliant explodes?

That would have been incredibly disturbing. I'm glad they chose to cut out the scenes with the child.

Cool. Why not post a transcript or something instead of pimping your Twitter?
Because the video with the audio is on Twitter and I can't embed the video here like I can from YouTube, and the screenshot is just to show what the video looks like.

Yes. According to Eddie Egan they tried to film it but the child wasn't cooperative.

The entire child subplot, if left in, would have altered the tone of the film considerably in my honest opinion. I’m very curious about a TWOK with it left in, but ultimately that would have been too dark for even me, and I like darker Trek.

Thank you for doing this Maurice.

Both a child and the Genesis device allow for limitless development.

The device used proto-matter, and was set off not on a surface, but in a nebula. If there is anything to the biocentric universe theory, perhaps the beginning of the Q came from that moment.

Perhaps this is also the moment in non-linear time history that diapers were invented.

Anything is possible!!!

Not that Maurice needs me to defend him, but the script for this movie with this dialogue is easily found online. Having the ability to share the audio is something unique and I thank him for doing this.
And if folks want a continuity script that’s accurate to the on-set dialogue we’ve got for the deleted scenes, I created this some time ago, marking the changes from the page to the stage: https://www.scribd.com/document/246301267/Star-Trek-II-Footage-Rundown-Workprint
