Star Trek Horror Game.

Critical Mass: you start on a ship with some tribbles aboard.

The game? Survive the deadly tribbles. These aren't special tribbles with venomous fangs or anything of the sort, just regular tribbles. You're on a TOS-era ship.
By the time you start realising there's a problem, <high number> of tribbles are already on the ship, including the replicator system.
You've picked up the tribbles on DSK7, but you've left it 3 days ago, so you're at least 3 days away from any help (no other ships nearby).

Can you contain the tribbles before being crushed or suffocated under their mass?

Seems facetious (and it somewhat is), but I like it because there is absolutely no malevolence involved, but a very significant threat: long before you die, you'll reach a point where tribbles reproduce faster than you can deal with them, whatever way you choose. So, you must act quickly and efficiently.

The goal would be to take a tribble, chuck it down the refuse disposal that shoots them into space, and continue until the ship is free of them? Could be like an Atari 2600 video game where one can't win the game but can rack up a high score. As more tribbles go at it faster, the ship fills up quicker. It's a bit repetitious and not necessarily in a fun way, unless you ask the tribble...

Didn't TOS call them "food synthesizers"? Ooh, tribbles could shoot out of that too...:devil:

That might be a way to win; head back to the station and make it and get x points... or somehow chuck 'em all down the disposal and get x^3 points... then comes the next round, oh dear...:devil::devil:

Better than the garbage disposal chute, chuck 'em into a force field contained room (one of the two atmospheric chambers?) and they crush each other... unless their rapidly breeding mass becomes so great the expanding mass break through the bulkheads...:devil::devil::devil:

The best games are facetious and/or having something that keeps gameplay engaging despite the repetitiveness. There's also a crude joke I could make except I already made it. :(:(:(:(:(

Oh, there could be an enemy along with ditching tribbles - a klingon spy could be following you.

The trouble is, this game sounds like an inversion of this one:

Which is an inversion of the earlier A2600 game, "Breakout".
