Yeah, 'd say you anger is mis-directed as Star Trek fan films flourished for 15 years with CBS looking the other way until a certain person decided to do wholesale unlicensed merchandising with the Star Trek IP and basically started saying "Hey, this isn't a fan film - it's the first independent Star Trek film...etc."

C/P hasn't 'killed' fan films either (and they could have). What they've done is set guidelines because the person I'm talking about above pretty much ;pissed in the pool' to the point C/P could no longer ignore it.
