help with movie where-generations era-enterprise detaches etc.plz help

hey all im wondering which is the film set in the next generations era where the enterprise detaches from the warp engine and is a saucer on its own and then crash lands on a planet, whilst the crew and others are on the planet watching and i think they go into caves or something, i could be wrong and its just part of the next generation series but yeh any help appreciated. thanks

if you are thinking of a film rather than an episode it sounds like Star Trek Generations, where the kilngons damage the warp core, so they seperate the saucer section and crash it on a planet. i can't remember there being caves, but everyone does get evacuated after the crash. and picard and dr soran are on a different planet while it happens.

I think your memory is combining two films. Saucer crash was in Generations. Hiding in caves was in Insurrection.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they were on a different part of the same planet.

Yeah. Soran had his launcher set up on Veridian III, so that's where the Enterprise was orbiting when they got in the fight with the Klingons, and that's where they crashed.

The lives at stake were the pre-industrial natives of Veridian IV, which would have been obliterated once Soran destroyed the star.
