Spoilers Star Trek: Explorer Issue 1 Short stories

I can’t a review thread for these. Is there any CI census on how we should do it? A thread per story, per issue, digital add on separate from the print issue?

I’ve read the first 4 and liked them all. I wonder if every issue will be themed like this one has Q.

I liked bits from all of them. Q and Kirk realising that Q had no power on Kirks nexus reality was great. Loved the Quantum Leap reference too.

 

It looks like the next one's theme will likely be Borg, if they do a unifying theme each time.

 

I had assumed we’d just have a running thread for all the issues, and had planned on starting one if my first issue would ever show up.

I did really enjoy the digital supplement stories so far. I was excited to see the Garak story mention the Torr district from A Stitch in Time.

 

As they aren't mentioned in the thread yet, I thought to add the titles, authors and descriptions. I still have to read some of them.

• A Night In, by Una McCormack, illustrations by Louie De Martinis
  • Garak meets a mystery man while in the Brig.

• The Offer, by James Swallow
  • Archer has an unusual encounter.

 

Kirk meets Q eh?

 

I've read the stories in the magazine and thought both of the Q stories were well written and I enjoyed the fact we got new stories with Q again.

 

I was in the same boat, seems the supplement is only for physical subscriptions... . Another member here was kind enough to share it with me so I could read it.

Never got a reply from Titan Mag support abot this issue, time to resend it...

 

All of the stories should have been in the magazine I'm very unhappy James Swallows Enterprise story and Una McCormack's story isn't t in the magazine either.I think that's really dumb we can't read them.

 

I feel like I have a vague memory of a very short fanfic by Una about Garak in the brig. I wonder if she dusted that off for this or if it's totally new.

 

It's totally new.

 

That makes me sadder that I'm not in a position to read it.
(And a bummer that this was the post of mine you saw, and not one of the several where I mention how much I love your work. )

 

Have not read it, just got around to finding a copy.
