Star Trek-Empires

What would you guys think of a mirror universe Trek? Maybe not just the blood soaked Terran Empire, but the strife Spock must have endured trying to change the Empire for the better.

I also always thought there was to little known about the Romulans. I kind of saw them as a lot more honorable then they were shown. (Probably cause I thought of them like the Roman Empire, not just because of the similarity of names.)

A little MU goes a long way, but one way to do an MU series would be like you suggested, focus on what Spock and Marlena Moreau did to screw things up for the Terran Empire.

The Romulans definitely need more exploration. They're basically Vulcans without the obsessive self-control. Remember that T'Pol let us in on the secret: Vulcans (and presumably Romulans) are more violently emotional than humans, not less (like they would like us to believe).

I don't think Romulans are "honorable" so much as cohesive, like a wolf pack. Instead of emotional repression, they've built their society around xenophobia; and the flip side of that is intense loyalty to their own kind.

Well, I get my view of them, as I said, from the Roman Empire. But also from the Rihansu books. They painted a misunderstood empire. They had a belief of Mehein'Shan (if I remember how to spell it anyway.) which roughly translated meant honor, loyalty. Pretty much what the army sees as their core values. Over time, certain heads of state became corrupt, but thats one of those universal constants in all cultures.

Never read The Sorrows of Empire, have we? ;)

They didn't "screw things up". Everything they did was for a greater purpose. 'The end of my Empire will mean the end of all of yours.'
