Star Trek Elite Force II Game Guide

I just noticed on Chapters.ca that an ebook edition of the game guide for Star Trek Elite Force II was released on December 1, 2015. I'm just wondering why, after 12 years, the publisher would release a game guide for a 12 year old game? Or was the game recently re-released that I haven't heard about?

Not really a relative topic on this board since I don't think this would be considered literature. Still, I'll post an answer.

It isn't the original official game guide. If you look at some of the author's other titles or look him up on Amazon, you'll see he's one of those "author's" that puts out a lot of cheap ebooks about a lot of completely unrelated topics, mostly game guides. I can almost guarantee that all of these are made up of freely downloadable information from the Internet that he's loosely put together in ebook format in an attempt to make some money. I would steer clear of all of this "author's" work.

He has a small handful of this junk on Amazon and over 300 titles on Barnes & Noble.

Just my opinion.

I actually bought a Trek game manual for a game I don't own because it featured numerous original short stories along with explanations of the game's scenarios and characters.

Game manuals certainly count as books. ;)

The bonus disc for Interplay's Starfleet Command had a number of Star Trek short stories as PDFs.

It is available on GoG, but no mention is made of having any extra pdfs or anything, so I doubt these are included.

EDIT: When I said it was available on GoG, I assumed you were referring to Starfleet Command, which had been mentioned in the previous post. Neither of the Elite Force games are currently available through GoG though.

I never got around to getting this game. I quite enjoyed the first Elite Force, especially modding it to turn everything into TOS!

Did Elite Force 2 ever have quite the same popularity and online player base?

Elite Force 2 was the last game from Activision, due to the rights conflict that was occuring between Paramount and Activision at the time, and as I recall it was lucky that we actually got the game, since it was almost not released do to the rights issue (it would've been one of those finished, but never released games).
