Whoa. Looks like Lorca ends up as top dog. He has the Emperor's sword and some bling looking armor. Silver instead of gold. Sorry but one of the pics makes him look like he wanted to be Emperor for power-mad reasons. Kind of annoying, since I'd prefer a nuanced villain but maybe the pics are misleading.​

Working theory:

Lorca’s coup does succeeds, but he decides to keep Burnham with him (as well as the Discovery) So the crew cut a deal w/ The Emperor to help her retake the throne for the information they need to get back.
