Even if you personally enjoy the series, do you think it's best that it be put down? Similar to the dog that had to be put down because it had rabies and they could not risk it giving rabies to the rest of their family. Old Yeller needed to be put down because it was the best thing to do.

 I'd pick in one of the middle options personally but I am seeing a lot of negative reviews which I can see where they are coming from.

Does it make design choices I don’t like? Yes. But last week I really connected with the story on the Discovery. I cared for the (genuine first time) what happened to Burnam, Saru et al. So they show had me now.

Nope. There's still a lot here to work with. I suspect - especially if the hiatus is as long as some expect it to be - someone in upper management will insist some of that money will be diverted to hire some actual writing talent.

Better dialog and more logically-sound plotting could instantly make this show a million times better, in all facets.

Family? Discovery is flying solo here.

Why would anyone who enjoys the show want it cancelled? For the benefit of all the other Trek series currently in production, which - rather importantly - happen to be non-existent?
