I saw Batman Vs Supermn last week and thoroughly enjoyed it (I’m getting to a point). I loved Nolan’s trilogy and my partner is a huge fan of Gotham.
I loved Michael and Jack too.
I was suspect about rebooting *my* Star Trek (a lot of us end up with a exaggerated sense of proprietary towards it after being a fan for a decade or two). But I’ve realised that, rather than recasting TOS taking away from the original, it’s actually enhanced it.
My reference to Batman vs. Superman comes down to the fact, they have been interpreted and re-interpreted numerous times. Is that not a complement? We hear the story once; twice. It’s a story we like to re-hear. Did you like Star Trek cause you were bored (likely), or did you see something the future might hold that captured your imagination (ideal!) ?
That's more important than playing some continuity whore.
Also, my current thoughts on continuity and and canon....
