"Star Trek" Day on the Writers Strike

As an Angeleno and Star Trek fan, I felt it was my duty to show up and picket today outside Paramount Studios for the WGA's official "Star Trek" day.

Countless Trek luminaries from all the show's incarnations - actors and writers, were on hand to show solidarity with the WGA in their continued struggle with the Dominion, uh, AMPTP.

I personally spoke to Armin Shimmerman, Brent Spiner, Wil Wheaton, Ira Behr, Bradley Thompson and other Trek staffers.

Also spotted were:

The legendary Harlan Ellison
Ron Moore
Robert Wolfe
Jane Epsenson

The Okudas

Actors included:

Nichelle Nichols
George Takei
Walter Koenig
Gerrit Graham
Steven Culp

Someone said Scott Bakula was spotted, but I didn't see him.

Also folks from New Voyages, Mark Altman, Larry Nemeck, fans from around the globe and many, many more.

A very good day, notwithstanding the terrible strike, of course, which brought us there.

I'm so jealous. I've been a huge supporter of the strike and I really wanted to go, but I had finals, and no money to fly out to LA for something like that.
