Star Trek coffee table books on kindle, etc.

I just noticed that the TNG 365 book, the followup to the Star Trek 365 book that came out a few years ago, will be available on kindle in addition to hardcover.

That sounds really cool for tablet users. (Now all I have to do is save up enough money to get one!).

Does anyone know if any other illustrated Trek books are available in digital format? Or is this the first?

I would never want a coffee table book on a digital medium. Defeats the purpose.

Yeah, I've wondered about this. Coffee table books (about coffee tables) on Kindle? I don't dig it.

However... I'm less certain about trade paperbacks on Kindle, say Star Trek Maps or TNG Technical Manual or Starship Spotter or some other similar books (just as examples).

How well do trade paperbacks work on Kindle?

I don't see where it would be that bad if you have a tablet. It would pretty much be laid out just like it is on the individual pages, the only problem I can think of is when you have a two page spread.
The only way you can do stuff with full color pictures is with a full color tablet.

That was kind of my thought. Since the TNG book seems to be in the same style as the TOS one (horizontal, rather than vertical or square like most coffee table books) I'm thinking it would layout out perfectly on a tablet. As for the two page spreads, I imagine they might put both pages on each screen, so that it would look like you were holding the book in your lap--except that it would be a lot lighter than the actual book (if you're familiar with the first one, which weighed about 4 or 5 lbs). Or you could switch to a mode that would show you one page at a time. Just speculating of course. It'd be nice if Amazon would put up some sample pages...

Never ever put Star Trek coffee table books on kindle. The coffee table book could be too heavy and could easily damage the screen of the Kindle. This goes for any eink reader.

^ I don't know, I've read about many people who have Vanguard on their e-ink readers, and these Watchtower-class stations are really heavy. I think they're tougher than you give them credit for.
