Does anyone know anything about this?

I know it's yet another trailer full of of spaceship pew pew and no hint of a story. In short: just like a score of other forgettable Trek fanfilm trailers.

Well, at least the CG team is pretty good. But I agree, a hint of an interesting sci-fi idea would give these new people some cred.
Here's a trailer that tells you: ''I'm interesting and different, come Watch me! I have rayguns, but also swordfights, super-creepy aliens, hot green alien girls, monsters, and even an attempted strangling!!
It's done in an old-fashioned way, but this trailer still offers more bang for the buck than most films today...

I don’t mind action and space battles as long as there is a good story behind it. It’s only a teaser trailer, so let us hope that when they release the full trailer we will get a better sense of what the story is. I am rather intrigued by the shots of a Kelvin-type starship going up against a Borg Cube. At the end of the trailer there was a shot of a battle damaged Constitution class and the Enterprise D. I’m guessing that time travel is involved somehow.
Well, at least the CG team is pretty good.
The 3d model of the Kelvin-type starship was created by Tobias Richter.

I'm always amused by fan film trailers that feel compelled to put up credits as if we have any clue who these people are. "Starring Bob Wilson." Uh... okay...? Hi Bob.

I realize they are trying to replicate pro trailers in which "Starring Patrick Stewart" might mean something to a potential audience, but geezaloo. Sure, credits have their place, but don't waste precious teaser-trailer time telling me who is in it, tell me what it's about.

Having your name above the titles ("A Robert Wise film", "from Director JJ Abrams") is something generally reserved for "name" directors whose "brand recognition" is very high, and it's sheer vanity to put such a credit at the front if you aren't one.

My objection to these kinds of trailers is that all they demonstrate is you can do CGI spaceships and can composite a greenscreen shot. We've all seen so many spaceship animations that such things have next to zero impact and end up looking like a VFX reel and not a trailer.
