Star Trek Bridge Sexual Pyschology

Have you noticed how Captain Kirk sits in the middle and how Sulu and Chekov represents his proxy arms?

Spock who is both alien and a brainbox is seated quite a distance as he represents a threat to the headman Captain.
Also Spock has to constantly crane his neck towards the Captain.

The comm officer who is a woman is seated behind the Captain
as she is not perceived to be a threat.

Scotty who provides the engine thrust is seated behind the Captain, symbolically speaking, indicating his engineering engine mule status.

The freudian symbolism present in the bridge cannot be ignored.

The captain is King and sits on a diass.
His 2 arms represented by the helmsman.

The half alien Spock and next in line to the throne sits in front where he can be seen constantly and presents his back to the Captain in a subserviant position as he hunches over a display console designed to make him bow downwards constantly.

The bridge is also circular which clearly has sexual significance.

The ship also has numerous sexual design elements with it's shape.

The door is at the back again representing more sexual design elements which would be better spoken off by other forum bembers

Re: Star Trek Bridge Pyschology

What a disappointment. While I'm sure you put a lot of thought into this thread (or at least put a lot of thought into aping something you heard walking down the hall past a freshman film class applying Freudian analysis to their favorite TV shows), it pales in comparison to your past efforts.

No "serious proposel concerning ship"? No visionary plans for a life-sized Enterprise-B hotel in the desert (or, alternately, a life-sized Enterprise 1701 at the World Trade Center site)?

No posts about blood electrification therapy and how it miraculously cures AIDS and hepatitis C?

No conspiracy theories about Paramount executing employees who spoke out about Nemesis being an awful piece of crap?

No announcements of scientific breakthroughs by scientists with Indian-sounding names, followed by your reassurance that their results are legit because the scientists are actually white?

Fail. MASSIVE FAIL. :(

Re: Star Trek Bridge Pyschology

As regarding tits the Enterprise saucer section does have 2 protuberances, one on top,one at the bottom which could be construed as breasts.

In fact if the ship is taken apart and the separate design elements then represent various elements of the body.In fact the ship could be re-drawn as a women with the saucer representing the head but the breasts being large in a man's head as it being a focal point fr a man's thought.

This freudian symbolism could be from the id,which represnts the most base part of the human psyche, with the most primeavel thoughts dominating form and function.

The nacelles represent legs, the secondary hull the body, the
shuttle bay the female sperm receptacle for mating, the breasts/nipples from the saucer to complete the remaining parts. The ship is also called she.

The fat and overweight Enterprise-D,with it's uneven proportions, short stubby legs, represents sterility due to it's pastel bridge colors and dull, ageing Captain in his twilight years with little or no passion, whereas the bright colors of the TOS Enterprise represents passion and vivacity, youth and exhuberance, drive and vitality.

In response to Cardinal Biggles.Non Sequitor.

That did make me smile.

I think though that this thread is not coming to enough of a point, and so if you do want to try again with more of a subject for discussion - and perhaps a more organised structure - I suggest you do so in a new thread.
