Star Trek Armada II: Renaming the ships.

For those of you who still play the game Star Trek Armada II, I was wondering if one was aware that you can change the names of ships/stations if you felt like it. I have done this with a fair number of the Federation starships, when some of the names I didn't like and decided to change them for ones I thought were better/more appropriate. I decided to leave the alien ones unchanged since I couldn't think of any better names. Has anyone else done the same, and if so what themes did you come up with?

In continuation these were the themes I came up with:

Venture: majority named after characters from Shakespeare plays.

Sabre: No changes

Defiant: Names of US and RAF fighter planes, predatory creatures on the ground and in the air, both living and extinct, and the USS Defiant!

Colony: Just edited some of the city names which the theme of this class is based

Akira: named after bladed weapons, adjectives, mythological monsters, planets, constellations, and sizeable US cities (mostly on the east coast)

Intrepid: Names of characters from Enterprise, LOTR characters, and the USS Intrepid and Voyager!

Iwo Jima: changed some of the names but kept with the general military theme, usually named after US carriers.

Steamrunner: Mostly after sizeable US and world cities

Aegian: Gods and heroes from Greco-Roman mythology, sizeable British and German cities, Eastern European capitals

Galaxy: Mostly after mythological characters associated with adventuring and innovation, as well as space shuttles and various vessels from the Royal Navy

Nebula: The scientist theme was retained, but some of them were altered.

Sovereign: Mostly after vessels from the US Navy, as well as some of the names of notable ships belonging to Axis powers (eg. Bismarck, Yamato), as well as adjectives describing the power of the class

Construction: The names of cast and crew members from the five serieses.

Freighter: Kept the theme of rivers and mountains, but imported most of them from the original armada.

Cargo: No changes, I liked the classical theme

Repair: No changes.

USS. Koerner, Nebula class. Matt Nordhaus named it in my honor for all the good work I did on Armada Universe, a fan site I ran for the game (which eventually transformed into StarTrek-Games.com ).

I hope that I was left in as well. I was told that the USS Teagarden - Intrepid Class - was named in my honor. One of the designers was in an RPG with me at the time.

In Legacy which I worked on I didn't put in my name, but the producer and lead designers have their names in for ship names. I think the publishers rep got in there as well.
