It's a shame those other games won't work as seamlessly on the newer OS's. I guess we could also wait for the original license to expire and have someone encapsulate it with a legacy runtime library like they do with these things. There are lots of sites out there dedicated to classic gaming. Sad thing about Trek is all the licensing stickiness that comes with it. The game companies that built them may be out of business, but it's likely that CBS/Paramout still owns them and won't lift a finger to re-release them.
A lot of us are still waiting for them to green-light "Secret of Vulcan Fury" with all the TOS cast.
Well you never know, i was sure we would never see Star Trek The 25th anni and Judgement rites, and then we got them, so never say never, i certainly would buy Armada 1 and 2 again if it were to appear on GOG.
I've found something pretty close to a solution for Armada 1 on windows 10. The game runs smoothly but I'm having some issues with the fog of war.
Here is what you need to do to get to play armada on win10:
Install the game
Run the 1.2 Patch - found here
Run the unofficial 1.3 Patch - found here
Check this website and the proposed solution from github - here
The github solution is almost miraculous but as I mentioned before, I'm having an issue with the fog of war. If anyone can test it on their side and give me feedback it would be great to know what is going on. Also if someone knows how to contact this specific github user it would be great!
