All good things...have a new beginning. When the last of the early great explorers of the Federation passed into the Ether, there were many centuries afterwards that saw the decay of the galaxies crenelation. Slowly, one by one, old alliances became void in the existing peace, Starfleet as a military force, was no longer required. Centuries passed and slowly, like in all things natural, new foes arose from planets forgotten on paper but remembered by the peoples history. Star Trek:Alpha Point Set 2,500 years into the future of the original TNG timeline. Alpha Point is a galatic perimeter defense and monitoring station of nearly 100,000 personnel from all walks of the Federation that was built to monitor, a 4 light year wide black hole, frozen in time, that was discovered adrift nearly 25 light years, beyond the galaxies perimeter. Beings 7 feet tall lived on the Drift but suddenly vanished , leaving behind their history and technology, but to what ends? Then the unexplicable happened, a massive surge of energy from the Drift triggered alarms all across Alpha Point, then the first behemouths emerged from the mawl of the black hole, like swords from the mouths of demons. They had come from another galaxy to challenge our right to exist.
