Purchasing this film on DVD is a given.

However, will the upcoming Star Trek film be a good enough reason for you to purchase a brand new Blu-ray player for you to be able to watch this film on HDTV in the comforts of your own living room?

For that matter, will the combined releases of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Terminator Salvation, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Watchmen along with this film next year finally make you want to invest in a Blu-ray player to watch these films in crystal clear high-definition with pristine sound or will standard DVD be good enough to experience these films in the privacy of your own homes?

Assuming I like the film, I will be buying it on DVD. I'm waiting a little longer to see how blu-ray fares in the long run before I get a player.

DVD. IF HD had been the format I would be getting it on that. I have no interest in Sony's Blu-Ray shit. I'll wait for digital downloading to be the standard. I can already download HD movies on my Xbox 360 so yeah. Meh.

Not sure yet. Depends on whether or not I'm going to add a PS3 to my console collection, stand-alone Blu-ray players aren't really an option (for me, that is).

As much as I am looking forward to the movie, it won't affect my decision at all.

I have an -"up-converting DVD" player..yet maybe Blu-ray..if the freaking price goes down to an acceptable level...

Well right now I don't have a bluray player or a HDTV. So I am only planing on buying it on DVD. But if for some miracle I'm able to purchase a bluray and a HDTV then I will be buying it on bluray.

Standard DVD looks and sounds great. I see no need to upgrade and buy a Blu-Ray player.
With a 60+ inch screen, the difference becomes rather noticeable. I'll be buying it on Blu-ray (already have the PS3 and a hi-def front projector, so most of my film purchases are, and will be, Blu-ray for the next while).

DVD for me. I have a 52" rear projection TV, and an upscaling DVD player. Everything looks good. :)
