I can tell I'm going to hate the character of "Eli Hitchcock".

Season 1-2 Rodney 100 times worse.

Well that Rodney was still better than he was on SG1.

Perhaps this is the 'top secret' mission the Daedalus was on?

You mean the Odyessy, I think that mission is part of the third SG1 DVD movie but I have no proof of that.

Yet another older, more senior guy dies in the pilot! That's something different!

So will the forth Stargate series be about how the Stargate was found and used in the 1930s rewriting history, just like Enterprise did?

I kinda like the idea of using the long rage communication device body swapping things, could be interesting and would allow them to do "Earth based" episodes having the team walk around on Earth again but in different bodies! I'm kinda getting excited about this series, I'm surely going to hope for the best!

“The Journey Home is the Greatest Adventure of All”

A little familier for a tag line ;)

Reading that, I'm not sure about it yet. It doesn't sound spectacular but I wouldn't mind seeing it after it's aired and get a better feel for the story.

Mind you, I was slightly underwhelmed by the progress of Atlantis (still haven't seen S4 yet) and Continuum so my Stargate love is a bit 50/50 at the moment.

So they are torn away from their known surroundings..um..sounds kinda like Voyager. From what I read it sounds entertaining, so I'm curious how it will play out. Something to look forward to for the summer.

Hitchcock sounds a bit more Daniel than Rodney. I have an image of young slacker hacker type. But he'll definitely be the writers' cypher and probably will get the girl and most of the episodes. So I guess he is the McKay.

Young has the potential to be like Sisko. A little disenfranchised.

My biggest disappointments from this that they've changed the Asian medic to a white name (Johansen) which tells me that once again, space is a white man's game. And I hate that they're already ripping off stories from SG-1. The bodyswitching device so soon. How long until Destiny cue is up on a long lost Replicator planet?

I like the idea that they can't alter their course and the danger of staying too long away and getting left behind. I also love that they are staying away from forest planets.

    Huh? Teal'c? Ford? Teyla, Ronan....?

    Season 1 finale

It won't be long until they find their way around that plot device.

    That DEFINITELY won't be long-lived

I read as far as the second paragraph and saw a referance to the IOA. That tells me all I need to know about this show.

Let the 5 year journey begin before its canceled just after its 100th episode. Coincidentally enough for syndication money.

they're going to save some whales?

    I see Hailey got married

The "game" simulation will probably be brought up in future episodes

The "body swapping" sounds like a easy way out for an actor that wants to leave the show.

"oh my body was killed in the far reaches of the galaxy but i'm getting used to the body from Earth"

Well that explains why the did this body swapping episode on Atlantis recently.
As a reminder that device exists, and one of the characters can say: "The body swapping thingy, you know, the one that almost got Doctor Keller from Atlantis killed last year, don't you remember?"

That's what I figure. Pretty much like the freezing gate travel at the start of SG-1. Although that would have been okay if the women wore t-shirt uniforms. Pig.

I'm not real happy about what I read in that link but I'll of course give it a chance. The proof will be in the execution.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of suddenly 50% of people can have the ancient gene with therapy.

You really think Universe will last 5 years?
