Spoilers Ahoy. The Reviews are coming in.

there was a mixed reception for last year's series, the first overseen by Moffat, with ratings down year on year.

Am sick of the press not doing their homework  FFS its your day job. The reception from the critics and fans was very very good and nowhere near mixed, infact Doctor since its return has never had mixed reception for an entire season by the masses.

The ratings were down in Live viewings but the overall audience remained for the most part. Doctor Who broke BBC I Player records in 2010 and repeat audiences were up meaning while less people were watching it live due to weather + World Cup 2010, they still watched it. Doctor also continued to expand its worldwide base as well

:p Reporters

So we think we already know what happens to River Song (unless that somehow changes) so it's either Rory or Amy.

So perhaps the first scene is Amy/Rory (or maybe both!) old and in a Nursing home, the Doctor visits and they die on him?

I seem to remember talk (around here at least) of five years when he first came on board.

Matt Smith's Contract Details are one of those things that get repeated so many times that people end up assuming they're true.* In fact the sole source of information that anyone can point to is a quote from an "unnamed source at the BBC" in one of the Tabloids.

So place as much weight in that as you like!

*Another one is, "The BBC's Contract with the Nation Estate says they have to use the Daleks evey year."
