<spoiler> Moffat announced the return of...

Might still want to spoiler tag that first line, Chaos - it comes up when you mouseover the link from the forum page... I already knew, so it didn't affect me.

It's certainly intriguing, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles them. Have to say they as brilliant as Blink is, the Angels never struck me as making good recurring foes. I trust SM knows what he's doing however :D

I'm not in favor of them bringing back Sally Sparrow because I think she was a perfect character for a one-time appearance. (Fortunately Carey Mulligan's newfound superstardom pretty much makes a return unlikely anyway). But I wouldn't mind finding out more about the Angels.

I wonder if this is what he meant with his much-debated "They're back!" comment of a few months ago?

I feel a bit of a Christmas grinch now for not being as jazzed about this as everyone else seems to be

They'll return presumbly in the two-part River Song story "The Crash of the Byzantium" As there were a lot of location photos featuring dismantled and partially whole statues based in a series of caves

As long as we never actually see them moving, I'll be glad to see them.

I think that their very nature makes seeing them move impossible.

It helps add to the suspense. My son, even though 14, is very squeamish. He was shrieking and jumping throughout the entire episode Blink. The direction and cinematography were both excellent, and I hope both are carried over to the upcoming episode.

No, I'm not really excited about this either. Blink was an awesome episodes, but I agree the Angels don't seem like a compelling recurring villain.

Still, I'll wait and see.

I dunno, I'm ambivalent about them bringing them back.

Blink was such a great, great episode that I think it's elements should be left alone. It stands as one of the shows best ever. Lets just leave it at that and not try and bleed it dry..

The Weeping Angels were a great creation of The Moff, but for me they weren't what made Blink a great episode. It was Carey's acting and the non-linear elements that did it for me.

You don't always need somebody going around chortling "bwah-hah-hah" to be a good villain. I think Blink established they were pretty damn effective, dangerous, and scary. I consider them the only Doctor Who monsters that I actually consider frightening on any level, and I've been watching the show since I was kid and was 38 when Blink aired. They might not have the staying power of, say, Daleks, but I think they're good for a few more stories -- or however many stories Moffat thinks he needs to tell their tale.

Yeah... as much as I will easily say Blink is my favourite episode of Who ever, I'm not to thrilled about this. It was Sally and Larry and the interactions with the Doctor via DVD that made this episode special, and the final scene where she finally meets him. The Angels themselves although integral to the storyline, could have almost been substituted with other creatures of some sort if it had been written slightly differently.

Will be interesting to see how they work in the new series however.
