Spock's Life For Nought?

Gertch

Admiral
Spock from the original time line has just had the last 130 years of his life wiped clean in the new Universe.

His only lasting legacy will now be helping to rebuild his society. No small task of course.

Would his memory of future events from his time line be useful now? Surely Vger is still out there as is the space Amoeba et al.

I think he will stay out of historys ''way'' besides he still has a history in the original timeline.

Exactly, Old Spock still lead a very rich life in the original universe, which we can still watch on DVD/books, but now he actually has a very strong purpose in this new universe.

Important in both realities.

My guess exactly, but I could see him trying to rebuild Vulcan society using some of his future knowledge and all his unification research and such.

Of course, I could see Spock playin a tad fast and loose "Who's to say in this universe you did not come to that conclusion by yourself?" with a sly wink "Who's to say I came up with it myself in the first place?"

SPOILERS

Honestly, I think that in this universe, Spock might have a real chance at Unification. I can imagine that Vulcan being destroyed might quickly knock down some fences with the Romulan Empire.

Also, does anyone else think that Spock will decide to give the Federation every scientific discovery that Vulcan scientists would have invented, but now won't?

Maybe he'll put them in a time-release safe so the Federation still learns them in the proper order. But surely he'll write all that stuff down somewhere, right?

I would. Plus will section 31 know of Spock prime's existance?

Another thought is if Spock does tell Kirk about future events and how to avoid/solve them, then Kirk would not learn anything on his own. He would not become the best person he could be. But still I feel bad for our original Spock. All his actions matter not in this timeline.

Kinda neat when Star Trek doesn't always have the warm and fuzzy.

Prime Spock's universe still exists though, everything he did still exists in another universe.

As I stated in the other thread, I'm going with what was said in the movie itself, and it was said, alternate reality.

Therefore, everything Spock did still happened.
